Learning to Create Video Content as a Business

Big Tech is in the news seemingly every day, and there is a reason. Platforms like Instagram and TikTok have absolutely taken over our free time. Personally I’ve heard many of my friends state they feel social media could be a stronger addiction than actual drugs. There are even rehabs now for scrolling. So yes, your company needs to be making video content, but where to start is the struggle.

As a content creator myself, I have often struggled to come up with unique ways to improve video production while maintaining a standard that can easily be replicated.

I am also noticing more corporate brands leaning into more casual, but creative content, see this auto dealership making parody content off of The Office.

This type of content is

  • Short (sub 3 mins like a TikTok)
  • Easily repeatable (little editing or effects)
  • Memorable for being unique and witty, and highlighting the “personal” element of their dealership

That being said, this video would not be easy for many businesses to recreate for various reasons. One theory I would like to test is long-form podcast content, broken into clips and adding captions using AI tools as a a strategy.
